You can find this plant growing in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and many surrounding countries.

Most of the kratom in the United States comes from Borneo, especially the South Kalamantarian region. The environment in that part of the world is an excellent fit for the Mitragyna Speciosa tree because the soil is so rich, there’s so much sunlight, and it rains frequently. As a result, Mitragyna Speciosa trees flourish in these rainforests and can grow up to 100 feet tall. Since the trees are so healthy, their leaves also contain excellent alkaloid profiles.

Understanding the Alkaloids in Red Vein Kratom

People become so interested in kratom, especially red vein kratom, because of the alkaloids in the plant that interact with receptors similarly to some pharmaceuticals. Primarily, kratom alkaloids bind to some of the same receptors as anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs like ibuprofen, oxycodone, fentanyl, Tramadol, and anesthesia drugs. Since kratom is a natural product, many people are interested to know if it might help prevent people from turning toward those other pharmaceutical drugs, which are developing a bad reputation here in the United States.

But what are alkaloids, exactly? An alkaloid is a natural organic compound that contains nitrogen and produces a physiological effect on human beings or other animals. Alkaloids can be found in many different plants, including the Mitragyna Speciosa plants from which we gather kratom. Many scientific researchers and medical professionals are continuing to work hard to study all of the potential effects of kratom.

One thing that’s already been observed is that red kratom seems to have the highest levels of some of the most important alkaloids. Compared to other kratom types, the red vein powder typically has the most intense and interesting alkaloid profiles. Once people fall in love with kratom, they normally go looking for the best kratom in the world. As you read research and check different online kratom stores, you’re likely to start noticing that Malay Kratom is in high demand. Since the natural taste of kratom can be so bitter and unappealing to some people, new ways of enjoying the product (such as mixing it with sweeter things) were developed. Mixing kratom in this way is also helpful because Malay kratom has such high levels of alkaloids that some people might find it helpful to dilute the plant material with something else.

Because Malay kratom is so popular now, many members of the kratom community have started referring to it as a strain of kratom. The truth is, though, that Malay kratom isn’t really a unique strain. It still comes from the same type of tree as other kratom, so it isn’t technically considered a different type of plant. That said, the environment in which kratom grows does have a relevant impact on the finished product.

In other words, there truly are differences between Malay kratom powder and other types of kratom. Like with many plants, the environment in which kratom grows changes how it grows. What is Kratom?

Kratom’s played a role in the Southeast Asia region for at least 100 years and perhaps much longer than that. The plant was also utilized in religious ceremonies and as a potential herbal remedy. Consumers would eat freshly plucked leaves straight from the kratom tree or dry and grind the leaves into a fine powder that could be steeped in water like tea. Laborers during this period often used kratom to improve stamina and decrease the feeling of tiredness. 

Recently, though, the dried leaves have expanded in popularity and spread westward. Many people take kratom as an herbal supplement. It’s also become increasingly common for recreational use or to help those experiencing opioid withdrawal. It should be noted, though, that there are no confirmed scientific studies that demonstrate kratom’s efficacy when it comes to matters of health. 

What is Yellow Kratom? 

There are generally thought to be three types of kratom, which are differentiated by the color of the leaves’ veins when the kratom is harvested for us. These colors are green, red, and white. The names of kratom strains also often include the country from where that specific kratom plant originates. For instance, you may encounter Red Bali kratom. 

If you’ve been paying attention, you’ve noticed that we didn’t include yellow kratom in the above list of the three main types. That’s because yellow kratom is a rare form of kratom that is the product of specific processing of red kratom strains. Only green, red, and white kratom, though, occur naturally. 

Red kratom tends to turn yellow when it’s left to dry for a longer-than-typical period; yellow Sulawesi is Red Horn Sulawesi that has been fermented and dried. Green and white kratom, which are usually dried inside, can also turn a yellowish color if left to dry outside. 

Why Do People Take Yellow Kratom? 

There is a significant lack of scientific study into the effects of yellow kratom. This makes it difficult to make any claims as to how kratom can actually affect the body. However, due to the popularity of yellow kratom, there is quite a bit of anecdotal reporting that helps uncover why people take the herbal supplement. 

Each type of kratom is thought to affect the body differently. These effects can also change as dosages go up or down. Since yellow kratom could be the result of a special drying process for green, red, or white kratom or even a combination of all three types, it becomes even more difficult to predict how any individual may feel when they consume yellow kratom. 

Generally, though, people who take yellow kratom report feeling increased stimulation and stamina. This has helped them with focus, concentration, and alertness. After taking yellow kratom, some have also stated they felt diminished pain. Again, though, there is no scientific proof backing these claims. So, we have to rely on the reports of those who’ve taken yellow kratom. 

People take yellow kratom for different reasons than they do for green, red, or white kratom. White kratom, for instance, is often said to have an impact like taking a strong cup of coffee. Green kratom can be described as having milder effects than yellow kratom. Of the three types of kratom, red is usually the most directly comparable to yellow. 

What Are the Different Strains of Yellow Kratom? 

There are several strains of yellow kratom. Their differences are mostly geographical, and their names indicate the country the kratom plant originated from: 

  • Yellow Bali Kratom 
  • Yellow Borneo Kratom 
  • Yellow Malay Kratom 
  • Yellow Sumatra Kratom 
  • Yellow Vietnam Kratom 

The impact of these different strains tends to be the same. So, you likely won’t need to be too concerned over which strain you purchase. However, it’s generally best to purchase from sustainable suppliers that contribute to the local community and economy in which the plants are grown and their leaves harvested. 

Is Kratom Safe? 

This can be a difficult question to answer. There are strategies, though, to best ensure you’re purchasing high-quality kratom from a reputable vendor. 

It should be noted that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends that no one use kratom for any reason. Their concern is that using kratom can create the risk of “addiction, abuse, and dependence.” While they are still evaluating all scientific information on the effects of kratom, they currently offer no approved uses for the herbal supplement. 

It’s also important to note that some people report negative effects after taking yellow kratom. Headaches, nausea (including vomiting), high blood pressure, and mood changes have all been reported by those taking yellow kratom. According to The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association, kratom alkaloids can interact with the delta-opioid, kappa-opioid, and mu-opioid receptors in the human body. The resulting interactions are similar to those created by analgesic drugs and anti-inflammatory drugs. Examples of anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs include ibuprofen, anesthesia, oxycodone, tramadol, and fentanyl. There are two main kratom alkaloids:

  1. Mitragynine – Long believed to be the most important alkaloid in kratom (up until recent years), mitragynine has been demonstrated to bind with opioid receptors in the human body. These interactions have been documented by researchers and published by The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association.
  2. 7-Hydroxymitragynine – Within the last several years, we’ve seen information indicating that 7-hydroxymitragynine might actually be the single most important kratom alkaloid. Those researchers published in The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association have said that this alkaloid has a special biochemical structure that allows it to interact with the human body quickly. Perhaps even more importantly, they write that 7-hydroxymitragynine has “13- and 46-fold higher potency than morphine and mitragynine, respectively.”

Types of Godfather Extracts Capsules

Now that you know a little bit about alkaloids and why we care about them, you’re ready to appreciate what makes Godfather Extracts special. Just consider the following two options:

What are the Alkaloids in Borneo Kratom?

Most of the research about kratom has been primarily focused on two alkaloids: mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. These two organic compounds are the main reasons kratom has become such a hot topic of conversation in the health community and even on political agendas. Kratom always seems to contain more mitragynine than 7-hydroxymitragynine, though both alkaloids are present in each of the various types of kratom powder. There are also many other compounds found in kratom, but these two alkaloids are believed to be the most important by far.

As the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association’s research indicates, mitragynine interacts with delta-opioid receptors, kappa-opioid receptors, and mu-opioid receptors in the human body. For this reason, there has been a lot of attention given to the mitragynine alkaloid throughout the years.

As time goes on, though, we’re starting to learn that 7-hydroxymitragynine might actually be the most important alkaloid in kratom.
